Video Outro Maker FAQ
How long should an outro be?
For YouTube end screens, 5–20 seconds leaves room for the platform’s clickable elements. For social clips, 2–4 seconds is enough.
Can I use it as a YouTube end screen?
Yes. Render the outro long enough (at least 5 seconds) and add YouTube’s end-screen elements in YouTube Studio on top of it.
Is my video’s sound kept?
Yes. The outro has a silent track and is joined after your audio.
Can I change the text later?
Render again with new text; keep the settings for your series.
Why does the first run take longer?
The media engine, FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly (about 32 MB), is downloaded once and then cached by your browser.
Is my video uploaded?
No. FFmpeg runs as WebAssembly in your browser, so the video stays on your device.
Why outros matter
The last seconds of a video are an opportunity: viewers who watched to the end are the most engaged, and a clear next step – subscribe, visit a website, watch another video – turns attention into action. A consistent outro also reinforces your brand across a series.
The outro maker uses the same rendering engine as the intro maker. FFmpeg draws the background, animates the text with the drawtext filter and fades the logo in and out. Text is read from files, so punctuation, exclamation marks and quotes appear exactly as typed.
For YouTube, the outro doubles as a background for end screens: render it for 10–20 seconds with space around the text, then add subscribe buttons and video links in YouTube Studio. For vertical platforms, a short, punchy line works better.
Attaching works in reverse to the intro: your video is fitted into the outro’s format and frame rate, its sound is kept, and the outro follows directly after it.
