PDF Poster Maker

Print a large poster on an ordinary printer. Pick one page of a PDF, choose how many sheets across and down, the paper size and an overlap for gluing, and get a print-ready PDF in which each sheet holds one tile of the enlarged page, with crop marks and row/column labels so you can assemble it easily. The page stays vector, so text and lines remain sharp at any size.

PDF Poster Maker FAQ

How big will the poster be?

The tool shows the size as you change the grid. Two by two A4 sheets in portrait give a poster of about 37 × 54 cm with a 10 mm overlap.

How do I print it?

Print at 100% (“Actual size”), not “Fit to page”, so the tiles line up.

What is the overlap for?

Neighbouring tiles repeat a strip of the image, so you can trim one sheet at its crop mark and glue it over the next without gaps.

Why is there a white border?

Most printers cannot print to the edge, so each tile keeps a 10 mm margin where the crop marks sit.

Will a scanned image look sharp?

Vector content stays sharp; a scanned image is enlarged with its own resolution, so a low-resolution scan looks soft at poster size.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. It is processed on your device.

Printing posters on normal paper

Large-format printers are expensive, but a poster can be assembled from ordinary sheets. The page is enlarged to cover a grid of sheets, each sheet prints one tile, and the tiles are trimmed and joined. This is often called tiled printing or poster printing.

The poster maker scales the chosen page so it fills the area covered by the grid while keeping its proportions, and centres it. Each sheet keeps a 10 mm unprintable margin with crop marks at the corners of the printable area. Neighbouring tiles share an overlap strip, so after trimming one sheet along its marks it can be laid over the next without a visible gap.

Labels in the margin show each tile’s row and column, which makes assembling large grids straightforward. Printing at 100% is important: any automatic scaling by the printer driver changes the tile size and breaks the alignment.

Because the page is embedded as vector content, text, lines and logos remain crisp no matter how far it is enlarged; only photos are limited by their own resolution. Everything happens in your browser.
