PDF Page Reorder

Put the pages of a PDF in the right order. Drag page thumbnails to a new position, move them with the arrow buttons, type the order you want, reverse the whole document, or collate a one-sided scan of a double-sided stack into the correct page sequence. The new PDF keeps the original text, images and quality, and the file never leaves your device.

PDF Page Reorder FAQ

What does “Collate scanned fronts and backs” do?

If you scanned the fronts of a stack, turned it over and scanned the backs, the PDF contains 1, 3, 5 … followed by the backs in reverse. Collating interleaves them into 1, 2, 3, 4 …

What happens to pages I do not list in the typed order?

They are added at the end in their current order, so no page is lost.

Does reordering reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, with their text, fonts and images.

Are bookmarks kept?

Bookmarks and links that point to pages are not copied into the new file. Recreate them with the PDF Bookmark Generator if needed.

How many pages can I reorder?

Large documents work; thumbnails load as you scroll so the page stays responsive.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

Reordering PDF pages

Pages end up in the wrong order for many reasons: a scanner fed sheets out of sequence, documents were merged in the wrong order, or a cover and appendix need to move. Reordering by hand in a thumbnail grid is the quickest fix for a few pages; a typed order is faster for structural changes.

The tool shows every page as a thumbnail. Drag a page onto another position to move it there, or use the arrow buttons below each thumbnail, which also work with the keyboard and screen readers. The summary above the grid shows how many pages the new document has and whether the order changed.

Two whole-document operations cover common cases. Reverse flips the order, useful when a scanner outputs the last page first. Collate solves the classic duplex problem: a single-sided scanner scans the fronts of a stack, then the backs, which arrive in reverse order. Collating interleaves them so each front is followed by its back.

Saving copies each page object into a new document in the chosen order. Text stays selectable, images are not recompressed and the file size stays close to the original. Everything runs locally with pdf-lib and PDF.js.
