Logo Background Remover
Turn a logo on a white or coloured box into a clean, transparent PNG. The remover detects the background colour from the edges of the image, removes it around the logo while keeping the inside of letters like O and A, softens the edges for smooth anti-aliasing and removes the coloured halo that a white background leaves behind. Made for logos, icons, signatures and graphics on plain backgrounds.

Logo Background Remover FAQ
Why does the inside of my letters stay white?
The default mode removes only the background connected to the image border, which is correct when the letter holes should show the background. Choose “This colour everywhere” to clear them too.
What is the halo?
Smooth logo edges are a mix of logo colour and white background. On a dark page, those pixels show as a light rim. Halo removal calculates the original logo colour of each edge pixel.
When should I use the Background Remover instead?
For photos – people, products, animals – where the background is not one plain colour. This tool is for flat-colour backgrounds.
Can I keep a white part of the logo?
Yes, in the default mode white areas inside the logo that are not connected to the border are kept.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Everything is generated and processed in your browser.
Transparent logos from flat backgrounds
Logos are often delivered as JPG or PNG files with a white box around them. On a white page that is invisible, but on a coloured website, a dark slide or a T-shirt the box is obvious. A transparent background solves this, and for logos on plain backgrounds it can be produced precisely without AI.
The remover first determines the background colour by sampling the border of the image and choosing the most common colour. It then measures, for every pixel, how far its colour is from the background. Pixels within the tolerance become fully transparent, pixels far away stay opaque, and those in between – the anti-aliased edges – become partly transparent, controlled by the edge softness.
In the default mode, only background connected to the image border is removed, found with a flood fill. This keeps the counters of letters and enclosed white shapes intact, which is usually what a designer intended. The alternative mode removes the colour everywhere.
Partly transparent edge pixels still contain some of the old background colour. Halo removal reverses the mixing: knowing the background colour and the pixel’s opacity, it computes the colour the logo had before it was blended with the background. The result looks clean on any colour.
