SEO Slug Generator
Create clean URL slugs from titles in bulk. Paste one title per line and get a slug for each: lowercase, words separated by hyphens (or underscores), accents removed, ß, æ and similar letters spelled out, Cyrillic and Greek transliterated, punctuation dropped, and optional removal of English stop words, numbers and years. A length limit cuts at whole words, and duplicates are flagged.

SEO Slug Generator FAQ
Should I remove stop words?
Often yes for shorter, cleaner URLs, but keep them when they change the meaning – the tool keeps them if nothing else would be left.
Should years be in URLs?
Avoid them for content you will update (“best laptops 2026”), so the URL stays valid next year.
Hyphens or underscores?
Hyphens. Google treats them as word separators; underscores join words.
How long should a slug be?
Three to five meaningful words is typical. The default limit is 60 characters.
What makes a good slug
The slug is the readable part of a URL. A good one describes the page in a few words, is easy to type and share, and does not change when the page is updated.
Search engines handle non-ASCII URLs, but transliterated ASCII slugs avoid encoding problems in emails, chats and analytics tools, where non-ASCII characters often appear as long percent-encoded strings.
If you change the slug of a published page, set up a 301 redirect from the old URL so links and rankings carry over.
Privacy: everything on this page runs in your browser. What you type or paste is not uploaded, stored or logged, and the result is generated on your device, so you can safely work with unpublished content, client data or drafts.
Tip: the result updates as you type, so you can try variations quickly. Copy the output with one click or download it as a file, and keep a copy of your input if you want to come back later – nothing is saved between visits.
Who it is for: the tool is built for site owners, marketers, writers and developers alike. You do not need to install anything or create an account, it works on phones as well as on desktop computers, and the results are plain text you can paste into any CMS, spreadsheet, code editor or ticket.
Accuracy: the rules used here are documented on the page and follow the published guidelines of the major search engines and web standards. Where a result is an approximation or a rule of thumb rather than an official limit, the page says so, so you can decide how much weight to give it.
Good practice: generated markup and files only help when they match the real page. Publish them together with the visible content they describe, test the page with the official tools from the search engines, and update the markup whenever the page changes.
