Review Schema Generator

Review markup can add star ratings to search results. Choose whether you are marking up one review or the average of many ratings, pick the type of item reviewed – product, book, course, software, recipe, movie and more – and enter the rating with its scale, the author, date and text or the number of ratings. The generator checks that ratings are inside the scale and warns where reviews are not eligible.

    Review Schema Generator FAQ

    Can a business review itself?

Reviews a business publishes about itself (LocalBusiness or Organization) are not eligible for review stars in Google.

    Must reviews be visible?

Yes. The rating and reviews must be shown on the page and come from real reviewers.

    What scale should I use?

Any, as long as bestRating and worstRating describe it; 1–5 is assumed when they are left out.

    How do I test it?

Publish the page and test its URL with Google’s Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator, then watch the enhancement reports in Search Console.

    Review stars done right

Star ratings draw attention in results, which is why the rules are strict: they must reflect genuine reviews shown on the page, about a specific item, not about the business publishing them.

For products, combine the rating with offers so the product is eligible for more features.

Privacy: everything on this page runs in your browser. What you type or paste is not uploaded, stored or logged, and the result is generated on your device, so you can safely work with unpublished content, client data or drafts.

Tip: the result updates as you type, so you can try variations quickly. Copy the output with one click or download it as a file, and keep a copy of your input if you want to come back later – nothing is saved between visits.

Who it is for: the tool is built for site owners, marketers, writers and developers alike. You do not need to install anything or create an account, it works on phones as well as on desktop computers, and the results are plain text you can paste into any CMS, spreadsheet, code editor or ticket.

Accuracy: the rules used here are documented on the page and follow the published guidelines of the major search engines and web standards. Where a result is an approximation or a rule of thumb rather than an official limit, the page says so, so you can decide how much weight to give it.

Good practice: generated markup and files only help when they match the real page. Publish them together with the visible content they describe, test the page with the official tools from the search engines, and update the markup whenever the page changes.
