AI Prompt Generator
Turn a rough idea into a prompt that gets useful answers the first time. Describe the task, then fill in what the AI cannot guess: the role it should take, the background, who the answer is for, the format and length you need, rules to follow and, optionally, an example of a good answer. The generator assembles everything into clearly labelled sections and can ask the AI to check with you before answering when information is missing.

AI Prompt Generator FAQ
Why structure prompts?
Models follow clear instructions better. Separating task, context and format reduces misunderstandings and generic answers.
Markdown or XML tags?
Both work with modern models. XML tags such as <task> and <context> are recommended by Anthropic for Claude and help any model separate instructions from data; Markdown headings are easier to read.
Does it use AI to write the prompt?
No. It assembles your answers with proven prompt patterns in your browser.
How long should a prompt be?
As long as needed to give the context the model cannot know, and no longer.
What makes a prompt work
Most weak AI answers come from missing context, not from the model. Telling it who it is helping, why and in what format closes most of that gap.
An example of a good answer is the strongest signal of all: models imitate style and structure closely.
This tool does not call an AI model. It turns your answers into a well-structured prompt in your browser, so it costs nothing, works offline once loaded and never sends your text anywhere. Paste the result into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or any other assistant, or into the system message of an API call.
Good prompts are specific about the task, the context the model cannot know, the audience and the shape of the answer. The fields on this page cover exactly those parts; leave optional fields empty when they do not apply, and the prompt stays short.
Review the answer you get: language models can be confidently wrong, especially about facts, numbers, names and recent events. Ask for sources or mark claims to check, and keep personal or confidential data out of prompts unless your organisation allows it.
